Abstract
In order to deeply investigate the specific impact of the development of E-commerce on the change of income gap between urban and rural residents, the research first discusses the impact mechanism of E-commercial development on the income gap between urban and rural residents from a theoretical level.Based on the above analysis framework,an econometric model is constructed, and using the panel data of 31 provinces (cities, autonomous regions)in mainland China from 2010 to 2019 to conduct corresponding empirical tests. The results show that:in general, with the rapid development of E-commerce,the income gap between urban and rural residents in China has shown a significant shrinking trend, and the impact of E-commercial development on the income gap between urban and rural residents has periodical differences. The impact of E-commercial development on narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents is not obvious, and the impact after 2014 is more significant;in addition, the impact of e-commercial development on the narrowing of the income gap between urban and rural residents also has obvious regional differences, which has the greatest impact on the central area, followed by the west, and the weakest in east.At the end of the research, relevant policy recommendations are put forward to promote the development of e-commerce in an orderly manner, which aims at narrower the income gap between urban and rural residents.
