Abstract
As a new production factor, data plays an important role in strategic emerging firms. Data value assessment is the basis of data management, transaction, and profit. The data value is deconstructed from the perspective of data ecological chain operation. According to the five links of data production, integration, dissemination, use, and decomposition, the value evaluation dimension is divided into 26 secondary indicators. The entropy weight TOPSIS is used to establish the data value evaluation model. The data value of three strategic emerging firms is analyzed by examples. Five key factors affecting the data value of firms are identified, namely, data inventory volume, acquisition difficulty, integration scale, carrying capacity, and integration speed. Finally, combined with the characteristics of the operation of the data ecological chain, this paper puts forward relevant suggestions to improve the firms’ data management capability and the data value.
