Abstract
In order to examine the internal logical relationship among technological innovation, financial development and industrial structure upgrading in ethnic minority areas. This paper based on the data from 2001 to 2019 in the northwestern ethnic areas, the Dubin model and the mediation effect model with double fixed effects in space and time are used to test the impact of technological innovation and financial development on the upgrading of industrial structure. The results show that, in ethnic areas, technological innovation has a positive effect on the upgrading of industrial structure, and the spatial spillover effect is significant; financial development has a positive effect on the upgrading of industrial structure, and the spatial spillover effect is not significant; in the upgrading of the industrial structure, technological innovation and financial development both play an intermediary effect separately; and the opening up has played a positive role in promoting the upgrading of the industrial structure. This research has reference value for the improvement of technology innovation, financial development and industrial policy in ethnic minority areas.
